Oneda Pauline Farris

Oneda Pauline Farris was born September 2, 1933 in Walnut Grove, TN the daughter of the late Ivan Fisher and Lola Higgins Fisher.

 Oneda was united in marriage to Rufus D. Farris on May 21, 1953. Mr. Farris preceded her in death on April 4, 2003.

 She was a telephone operator for South Central Bell in Memphis, TN and was promoted to Supervisor before her retirement in 1978.

Some of her favorite pastimes were hosting her family and friends, playing dominoes and Rook, traveling and was a very good cook.

As a dedicated member of the Michie First Baptist Church, Oneda's spirit resonated through the gift of music, serving multiple churches throughout her lifetime. She played piano for several gospel quartets, taught piano for a number of years and lead the Church Youth Program with wonderful success.

Mrs. Farris departed this life on August 23, 2024 in Michie, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 11 Months, 21 Days. She is survived by her daughter, April Bauer and husband Gary; two grandchildren, Casey Wallace, Madison Berryman and husband Mitchell; step grandchildren: Sierra McCarley, Bailey, Dakota, and Ashely Bauer; two great grandchildren, Stormy and Mayzie Berryman; step great grandchild, John Aaron McCarley; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Emogene Willis, Louise Killingsworth and Shelby Fisher of Michie, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Michie First Baptist Church.
