OPAL MARSH
Henderson, TN: Opal Elizabeth Davidson Marsh, age 91, passed away Thursday evening at Henderson Health Care.
She was born April 9, 1924 in the Hickory Corner Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Jacob Hewell Davidson and Lola Lee Morton Davidson. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1944 and attended West Tennessee Business College. She married Edwin Marsh in 1948 and they made their home in the Old Friendship Community. She worked at Salant & Salant, worked on the farm and began working at Jackson General Hospital in 1967 until 1985, retiring as a Ward Clerk.
She was very active in the church and enjoyed being with the “Golden Girls” especially attending high school basketball games. She was a foster grandparent at Chester County High School and Chester County Junior High School. Mrs. Marsh was a member of the Estes Church of Christ.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Legg of Henderson, Anita Burton and husband Joe of Henderson and Janice Malecky and husband Geoff of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren, Clint Clayton and Mandy Clayton; and four great grandchildren, Emma Grace Clayton, Mya Leilah Clayton, Clint Michael Clayton, Jr. and Claire Clayton.
She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Addison Grace Hensley and two sisters, Lorene Wamble and Pauline McNeil.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Director – Casey Chapel with Dr. Roy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday.
