Opal Lorene Victory

Opal Lorene Goodman Victory of Florence, AL was born August 12, 1919 in Cloverdale, Alabama, the daughter of the late Frank Boyd and Fannie Leona Davis Goodman. She was united in marriage to Hubert C. Victory on December 25, 1936 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1988.



Mrs. Victory was a homemaker and a member of the Cloverdale Baptist Church in Cloverdale , Alabama.



Mrs. Victory departed this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing/Rehab in Florence, Alabama at the age of 90 Years, 3 Months, 19 Days.



She is survived by two sons, Dennis Michael Victory of Florence, AL, L. C. Victory of Mishawaka, IN; two daughters, Shirley Victory Elethorp of Deatsville, AL, Joyce Elaine Victory Medley of Conyers, GA; eighteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Movelean Goodman Hendrix of Florence, AL; sister-in-law, Bessie Weeks of Florence, AL; several nieces and nephews.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Victory was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Gail Victory Thompson; a son, Thurmond Eugene Victory; three brothers, Herman, Hershel, and Bobby Goodman; two sisters, Verna Dean Conley and Verla Creasy.



Services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with William Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery at Florence, Alabama with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, December 5, 2009 from noon until service time at the funeral home.
