Mr. Orville Lee Modesitt, age 76 of Whiteville, departed this life Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Leachville, Arkansas August 19, 1935 to the late Herschell and Renna Hardy Modesitt. A 1953 graduate of Dyess (AR) High School, he served his country in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife Sandra Faye Modesitt, who survives, May 8, 1985 and in 1990 retired from working as a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. In 1993, Mr. and Mrs. Modesitt moved to Whiteville. He loved gardening and sports; he was a big fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was a Methodist in belief.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Modesitt leaves as his survivors two daughters, Valerie Victoria Fuller and Lisa Fleming of Boise, Idaho; three sons, Clark Hannibal Modesitt of Whiteville, Scott Modesitt of Denver, Colorado and Greg Modesitt of Edwardsville, Illinois; three sisters, Audrey Williams of Cookeville, Mary Hines of Eads, and Georgia Ihrie of Hot Springs, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Savannah Modesitt, Matthew Modesitt, Ryan Modesitt, Brooke Fleming and Jordanne Fleming; his best friend from childhood, George Ellis of Minnesota; and his mother-in-law, Baby Ruth Willis of Decatur, Mississippi.
