Mr. Oscar Emmitt Goin, age 75 of Middleton, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Linden, Tennessee.
Mr. Goin was born Thursday, August 15, 1940 in Cockrum, Mississippi to the late Pete Byron and Velma Mae Gitter Goin. In 1960, he was united in marriage to Martha Ann Tucker Goin, who preceded him in death in 1988. Having lived most of his life in Memphis, he spent his later years in Middleton, and moved to Linden about 5 years ago.
He was retired from Gould Manufacturing and also worked for Impact. He was dedicated to the church, and was a member of Grand Junction Church of Christ and, later, Tate Road Church of Christ. He enjoyed gospel meetings and supported the Church of Christ. Some of his favorite pastimes also included hunting and fishing. He especially loved his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol Petty (James) of Hickory Valley, Cindy Copeland of Hickory Valley, Cassandra Thacker of Counce, Mindy King of Bolivar, and Lindsey Goin (Larry Burchette) of Linden; grandchildren, Alysia, Kecia, Tabitha, Ashley, Corbin, Ethan, Kurstie, Kristan, Tanner, Cameron, Nicholas, Megan, Jalen, Braden, Devin, Emilee and Aliana; and great-grandchildren, Isabella, Sadie, Adilyn, and Caleb.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rubin Goin; sister, Kathern Goin Dalton; and great-granddaughter, Brenley Ostrom.
