Oscar Ervin Jones

Oscar Ervin Jones Jr. was born December 12, 1929 in Selmer, Tennessee the son of the late Oscar Ervin Jones, Sr. and Ina Rinks Wardlow Jones.He was united in marriage to Ines King on October 22, 1949.Mr. Jones was a retired factory worker, having worked at Brown Shoe Company and ITT in Corinth. After ITT closed, he then worked as a timber cutter. He was a member of Pleasant Site Baptist Church and then later moved his membership to Locke Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors especially bird and deer hunting and fishing.Mr. Jones departed this life on August 23, 2011 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 8 Months, 11 Days. He is survived by his wife Ines (King) Jones of Pocahontas, TN; three sisters, Francis Flynn of Ramer, TN, Nettie Young of Selmer, TN, Maxine Alvery of Selmer, TN; host of extended family and friends.In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by five sisters, Elsie Gardner, Ether Whitley, Odessa Burks, Tiny Wardlow, Belle Clark; four brothers, Bill Wardlow, Ephriam Wardlow, Jack Jones, and Rubert Jones.
