Ossie Mae Ruth Beshires, age 81, died Friday evening, April 5, 2024 at her home in Henderson.
She was born in Henderson, TN on July 2, 1942, daughter of the late Ossie Burl and Reba Mae Graves Ruth. She grew up in Henderson and attended Chester County High School. She was the city of Henderson Centennial Queen of 1960.
She married Windell "Buster" Beshires on August 18, 1962. They were married for 56 years when Buster passed away in October of 2018.
She was a florist and began working in the floral business with Mrs. Pearl Griffin at an early age. She and her mother then bought that business in 1975. They moved to a new location in 1979 and opened Four Way Flower Shop. She not only enjoyed making floral arrangements for families but also getting to know all the people she served over the years.
She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church.
The joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite past-time was arguing with her two sons and great grandson Brycen, (she was always right and would set them straight)!
She was loved by many and was blessed to have had excellent caregivers as her health began to deteriorate.
She is survived by her sons, Windell A. Beshires (Mary) and Johnny W. Beshires (Tammi) both of Henderson; 5 grandchildren Megan Cook (Drew), Rebecca Faulkner (Hunter), April Phillips (Nick), Jacob Beshires (Brandie), Bailee Yu (Daniel); and 10 great grandchildren Aiden, Carter, Trace, Lane, Brycen, Lila, Waylon, Sadie, Luke and Lainey.
In addition to her parents and husband Windell, she was preceded in death by two brothers Jimmy and Bobby Ruth.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Crook Avenue Chapel with Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel on Tuesday, April 9, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
