Ostien Shann

Ostien Shann was born May 23, 1922 in Wayne County, Tennessee the son of the late James Walter and Bessie Galloway Shann. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shann was preceded in death by daughter, Betty Lou Shann; brother, Paul Shann; and a sister, Carminel Shann. Mr. Shann died Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home near Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 18 Days. On April 29, 1944, he was married to Sarah Rosetta Rasbury. Mr. Shann, a member of First United Methodist Church, had worked at Genesco for many years and was a farmer.



He is survived by his wife Rosetta Rasbury Shann of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Elaine Helton and husband Herbert Wayne of Goodlettsville, TN;

two grandchildren, Scott Helton and wife Delisa and Scott Helton and wife Angela all of Smyrna, TN; four great grandchildren, Weston, Parker, Connor, and Carson; sister, Theo Kelley of Waynesboro, TN,

sisters-in-law, Monetta Bullion of Madison, TN, Florine Gossett of Hohenwald, TN, Judy Woodruff of Antioch, TN, Nadine Turnbow and husband Clifford of Hohenwald, TN; brother-in-law, Van Brown Rasbury and wife JoAnn of Waynesboro; niece, Faye Byrd and husband Jim of Waynesboro;

nieces, nephews, and friends.



Services will be Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro with Marvin Champion and Ronnie Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
