Patricia Ann Coggins Brown was born in Collinwood, Tennessee, on April 5, 1949, to the late Raymond and Nettie Oleda Keeton Coggins. She was united in marriage to Glenn Brown on October 26, 1968, and they were blessed with three children: Deborah Ann Brown, James McKinley Brown, and Benjamin Glenn Brown. Mrs. Pat was a member of the Collinwood Church of Christ. She was retired from the Wayne County School System where she worked more than 20 years. She served as Collinwood City Commissioner from February 2007 to August 2012 and as Wayne County School Board member from September 2012 until August 2020. Mrs. Pat loved her community and watching her grandchildren’s special school and athletic events.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Brown, of Collinwood; her daughter, Deborah Brown, of Collinwood; her son Ken Brown (Darlene) of Waynesboro; and son Ben Brown (Abree) of Collinwood. Grandchildren Tyler Brown of Phoenix, AZ; Emmy Reece Brown and Neely Brown of Collinwood; Justin Burns (Morgan) of Newbern, TN; Alana Sobieralski (Nick) of Mt. Juliet, TN; Abbi Burns of Spring Hill, TN. Great grandchild, Jace Burns. Brother, Paul Coggins (Pat) of Waynesboro.
She was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Nettie Oleda Keeton Coggins and beloved son-in-law, Stan Burns.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, June 17, from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Both the visitation and the funeral will be held at Collinwood Church of Christ in Collinwood. Officiating will be Travis Harmon and Gregg Lee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Pallbearers will be Heath Daniel, Walter Butler, Freddie Brown, Dustin Smith, Stanley Keeton, and Jerry Keeton.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Janet Smith Foundation and the Butterfly Foundation.
