Patsi Lanier Martin, age 76, passed away Monday morning, May 30, 2016 in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
A native of Russellville, Alabama, she was born November 3, 1939 to the late Oscar Eugene and Carrie Alvatious Scott Lanier and had lived at Grand Valley Lakes since 1994, moving from Germantown. She married David Dupree Martin, Sr., who survives, on March 15, 1959 in Albertville, Alabama and worked in their home as a loving wife and full time mother. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and being called 'Grandma'. Always a practical joker, she kept her family happiest with her wonderful cooking. She received fulfillment from attending and participating in church services at West Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a 20+ year member, playing the piano and organ for them when needed.
Survivors include her husband, David Dupree Martin, Sr., of Grand Valley Lakes; four daughters, Kimberly Martin of Olive Branch, MS, Kelly Beach (Sid) of Collierville, Kathy Martin of Mt. Prospect, IL and Karen Meredith (David) of Olive Branch, MS; a son, David D. Martin, Jr. (Angie) of Pearland, TX; and her 8 grandchildren, Sean Beach (Lauren), Laney Beach, Whitney Beach, Nelson Meredith, Haley Perry, Michael Perry, Kylie Martin and Joshua Martin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mary McAlister, Annelle Robertson and Jeanne Bradfoot; and a brother, Oscar Eugene Lanier, Jr.
