Services for Patsy Nell Richardson Massa, formerly of Clifton, will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with Jim Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Culp's Chapel Cemetery near Clifton with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Massa, Michael O'Neal, Gene Davidson, Rick Pettit, Bobby Culp, and Adolph Halford, Jr.
Patsy was born December 1, 1935 at Peters Landing to the late John Daniel and Vannie Mae Middleton Richardson. She departed this life Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons at the age of 74 Years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Massa was preceded in death by
her husband, Cloy Clay Massa; grandson, Lance Clay Massa; and a brother, Joe Daniel Richardson.
Patsy graduated from Vanderbilt University and George Peabody College for Teachers receiving her masters and teaching certificate in English, History, Physical Education, and Public Speaking. She began her teaching career at Coffee High School in Florence and also taught at Lenoir City High, Frank Hughes High, and grade school at Cedar Creek Elementary. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by a son, Richardson Massa;
four grandchildren, Amber Elaine Massa, Kasey Michelle Massa, Jennifer Nicole Massa, and Kelly Ray Massa; great-granddaughter, Kyndall Maire Pevahouse all of Clifton, TN.
