Pattie Sue Deming

Pattie Sue Deming, 81, of Hickory Valley, passed at her home Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Ms. Deming was born Wednesday, July 29, 1942, in Somerville, TN, to Cheek and Ruby Graham Atkeison.  She moved to Hickory Valley and then to Memphis in 1980 where she worked in sales at Dobbs Ford and would meet her "person," Ben King, aka 'Big Bird.'  They retired together in 1994 and moved back to Hickory Valley.  They were together 34 years.

Ms. Deming was known for her fierce personality and being the "best cook."  She loved her family and was proud of each and every one of them.  

Survivors include her daughter Tracye Simmons and her husband Fred of Somerville; a son, Chris Deming of Hickory Valley; her life partner, Ben King of Hickory Valley; three grandchildren, Marley Simmons, Taylor Deming and Chevis Deming; and several great and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brad Deming and her granddaughter Leslie Deming.

Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar, TN were in charge of her services.
