Mr. Howell passed away Sunday evening, August 2, 2020 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN.
A native of the Serles community of Hardeman County, Mr. Howell was the son of the late Clifford Paul Howell and Deborah Fay Lowrance Howell, who survives. He was reared in Hardeman County, but lived much of his life in Selmer where he was the owner/operator of Howell's Truck and Trailer Diesel Shop.
Mr. Howell was a member of the Porter's Creek Baptist Church and was known to many as "Smiley" as a younger man; testament to his sunny and friendly disposition. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the river, his pet dog, "Sambo", and time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves two sons, Chad (Angela) Howell of Middleton and Corey (Dana) Howell of Selmer; his mother, Deborah Fay Howell of Middleton; a sister, Patricia Johnston of Corinth, MS; four brothers, Larry Howell of Pocahontas, Jimmy and Danny Howell, both of Middleton and Ricky Howell of Selmer; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

When attending visitation or services for Mr. Howell, please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
