Paul Johnson

Paul Thomas Johnson

was born in Mooring, Tennessee on January 3, 1945 the son of the late William Lester (Pete) and Tommie Opal Pruitt Johnson.

On February 15, 1964 he was united in marriage to Patsy Gail Wilkerson, who survives.

Paul retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. Before working at Goodyear he worked as a farmhand from 1955 until 1969. Paul lived in Lake County, Tennessee from 1945 until 2008 when he relocated with his wife to Savannah, Tennessee.  Paul loved 4-wheeler riding, he was a member of the Sheepridge Ridgerunner 4-wheeler group.  

Paul departed this life on Monday, June 19, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 16 days.

In addition to his wife Patsy of 59 years, he is survived by his children, Cathy Phelps and her husband Tim of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Kenneth Johnson of Savannah, Tennessee, and Paula Jenewein and her husband Chad of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren, Thomas Jenewein, Liam Jenewein, Alia Jenewein, Jessica Hunt, Amanda Upchurch, and Dakota Johnson; great grandchildren, Cadin Angelucci, Cameron Angelucci, Christa Upchurch, and Gabriella Irvine; sisters, Pam Gladden of Ridgely, Tennessee and Betty Clenney of Lexington, Tennessee; brothers, Rodney Johnson of Ridgely, Tennessee, Jackie Johnson of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and James Adams of Samburg, Tennessee; and stepbrother, Gary Mac Scott of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Johnson Tucker and Peggy Johnson Carrington; four brothers, Terry William (Red) Johnson, Benny Johnson, Billy Johnson and Jerry Johnson; stepbrother, Donald Scott; and grandson, Hunter Chase Johnson.
