Paul Ernest Rich of Waynesboro, TN was born July 14, 1940 in Cypress Inn, TN, the son of the late Gaynes T. and Clora Belle Berry Rich. He was united in marriage to Rosanne Fowler on May 24, 1962 and has celebrated 56 special years together. Mr. Rich was the owner of Wayne Motor Company and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee. He was a charter member of Waynesboro Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow and had served with the Tennessee National Guard.
Mr. Rich departed this life Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 2 Months, 22 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Rosanne Rich, daughters, Paula Ann Cole, husband,Franklin and Missy Sisk, husband, David all of Waynesboro, TN; granddaughters, Annaka Petty and Morgan Ann Mathis; special nieces, Sarah Beth Martin (Greg) and Beckie Lee Evans (Caleb); special great-nieces, Rosalee and Scottie Beth Martin; sisters, JoAnn Statom, husband, Ralph, Collinwood, TN, Gainell Bevis and Teresa Evans, husband, Dwight all of Waynesboro, TN and Rosena Phillips, husband, Ray of Florence, AL and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Gaynes Hardy (Shorty) Rich and wife, Betty and brother-in-law, Ernest Bevis.
Services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 1:30 PM at First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kevin Marston, Chris Blalock and Camryn Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4 pm to 9 pm at WCHS Gym, Waynesboro, TN and Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 9 am to service time at the First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, TN.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Mark Statom, Chip Phillips, Richie Bevis, Andy Beckham, Jordan Horton, Phil Willard and Tyler York. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Joe Hall, Edsel Turnbo, Martin Haggard, Jr., Roger C. Balentine and the Waynesboro Rotary Club members.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial donation be given to the Wayne sboro Rotary Club or the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, TN.
