Paul Wayne (P.W.) Dorris

Paul Wayne Dorris, age 81 of Toone TN, passed away peacefully at his home on December 5, 2021. Paul Wayne, or P.W. as all his buddies called him, was born on July 20, 1940 in Hardeman County where he lived for his entire life. His parents were the late William (Billy) Dorris and Cressie Dorris. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Willis, Jo Shearon and Brenda Dorris and two brothers, W.C. Dorris and Jewel Dorris.

Paul worked his entire life as a carpenter with some of those being self-employed but many of those were with HT Bishop & Sons. He served in the US Army from November 27, 1958 to February 27, 1962. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his children Carrie Whistle of Jackson TN, Melinda Dorris of Toone TN, Penny Sisco (Donnie) of Tuscaloosa AL and Jeannie Damiani (Mark) of Katy TX; three sisters, Delores Gooch (Bennie) of Opelika, AL, Sara Smith (Randy) of Hernando MS and Gail Harris (Woody) of Riverton UT; five grandchildren Bret Sisco, Steven Collins, Julie Staggs, Kaycie Vegas and Nicholas Damiani; and six great-grandchildren, Noah Sisco, Carson Sisco, Makenli Collins, Molly Collins, Hudson Staggs and Evangeline Vegas.

At Paul’s request, there will not be a funeral service. Donations can be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society.
