She was born in the Mt. Zion Community of McNairy County, the daughter of the late John and Carrie Hucklbee Ramey. She was married to Carl Vandiver in 1943. She worked for Garan Manufacturing for 28 years. Mr. Vandiver died in 1980. She loved to take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening and planting flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Vandiver and Don Vandiver both of Adamsville; a daughter, Paulette Pettigrew of Savannah; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Pete Ramey of Selmer.
