Peggy Joyce Hinton Churchwell

Peggy Joyce Hinton Churchwell, age 88, passed away June 11, 2023. She was born on May 11, 1935 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charles Edwin Hinton and Mabel Barker Hinton of Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband Teddy Churchwell and their son Eddie Paul Churchwell. She graduated in from Central High School in Savannah in 1953. Peggy and Teddy lived in California and Memphis before making a permanent home in Milledgeville, Tennessee. While in Memphis, Peggy worked for the IRS for many years. In addition to operating several businesses, she and Teddy operated a campground in Missouri from which she had many pleasant memories and stories. She was an avid fan of UT football. Peggy loved life and loved to shop for bargains with friends. She always had a joke to share. Peggy will be remembered by those who knew her as a kind and generous person. Peggy is survived by her three brothers, Don (Ella Jo), Larry (Thalia) and David (Kathy). She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
