Peggy Cox

Mrs. Peggy Cox, age 80 of Somerville, passed from this life Tuesday morning, March 11, 2014 at NHC Healthcare in Somerville.

Mrs. Cox was born in Middleton August 2, 1933 to the late Earl and Icy Grantham Powers and grew up in Fayette County. She lived most of her adult life in Memphis and retired from Kimberly-Clark after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed family gatherings and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Fayette County.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Currie of Frisco, Texas; three sisters, Sadie Davis of Middleton, Inez Voyles of Somerville, and Valeria Bishop of Somerville; brother, James Powers of Somerville; and granddaughter, Shauna Justice of Greenville, South Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frankie Holden and Jewel Davis; and three brothers, Earl Powers, Jr., Houston Powers and Bill Powers.
