Peggy LaRue Evans, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend, born on October 9, 1944, in Selmer, TN, to the late L.D. and Euthia Rinks LaRue. With a heart full of love and a spirit that touched many, Peggy embarked on a beautiful journey filled with cherished memories and meaningful connections.
On June 30, 1962, Peggy joined her life with David E. Evans in a union that exemplified love and partnership. They walked hand in hand through life for 63 years until David preceded her in death on July 18, 2025, leaving her with treasured memories to hold close.
Peggy was a faithful member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, nurturing her spirit and community through her dedication. Her career spanned over 30 years at General Electric. In addition, she shared her passion for beauty as a skilled cosmetologist, creating a welcoming haven at her home for friends and clients alike.
An adventurous soul, Peggy found joy in thrifting at yard sales and flea markets, where she often gathered unique treasures. What truly enriched her life, however, were the moments spent with her grandchildren and the time she shared with family and friends. Her love for them shone brightly, leaving memories that will forever be cherished.
Peggy departed this life on September 12, 2025, in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 3 days. She leaves behind her son, David Lynn Evans and wife Leigh of Selmer, TN; her daughter, Penny Carroll and husband Tracey of Selmer, TN; three adored grandchildren, Blake Carroll and wife Channing, Megan (Evans) Moore and husband Michael all of Selmer, TN, and Brittany Kelley and husband Jesse of Jackson, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Greenlee Carroll, Palmer Carroll, and Brooks Kelley. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Darlene Foster of Humboldt, TN, and Donna Renee Gill of Maryville, TN, as well as her special sister, Connie Mullins of Selmer, TN, along with a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Linda Borden.
As we remember Peggy, let us celebrate the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the enduring legacy she leaves in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
