PEGGY JOYCE JONES
was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on June 3, 1945 the daughter of the late George Walker Stricklin and Ora Lee Moore Todd.
Peggy was a retired production worker, she had worked for Corinth Manufacturing, Hosiery Mill, and Garan Manufacturing, all in Corinth, Mississippi.
She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Peggy loved her family, and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She taught her daughters how to be loving, caring and nurturing grandmothers by being one herself. One of her greatest joys was playing with her grandchildren until her health made her unable to play. Peggy had a sweet disposition, she was quite and kept to herself. Anytime anyone met her, they would always say what a sweet little woman she was. She liked to go shopping at thrift stores and eat at the Cracker Barrel with her sister-in-law. Peggy taught by example to be kind, and don't pretend to be something you're not. She would say money is not everything, never look down on anyone and be kind to everyone. Peggy believed in sharing what you have even if you don't have much and be humble, not arrogant. In the last weeks of her life, she taught the most important lesson of all, never lose faith in God, even in trials and storms.
Peggy departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 15 days.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Ann Brown and her husband Tony of Corinth, Mississippi, Jimmy Lee Davis of Corinth, Mississippi and Rhonda Lee McCaig of Bartlett, Alabama; grandchildren, Casey Dobbs, Amber Powers, Jennifer Bennett, Rickie Starnes, Samuel Davis, Matthew Davis, Justin Brown, Haley Brown, and Jake Brown; 8 great grandchildren; and brothers, Kenneth Stricklin and his wife Patsy, and Joe Stricklin, all of Adamsville, Tennessee.
