Peggy Mask, age 87, of Bolivar, passed away early Saturday morning, February 24, 2017 at the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin, Tennessee.
The widow of John Carlin "Jack" Mask, who died in 2004 after 54 years of marriage, she worked as a 1st grade school teacher in the Hardeman County School System prior to retirement. She was born Sunday, October 27, 1929 in Jackson, daughter of the late Harold and Louise Camp Hodgson and grew up in Memphis. She later lived in Brentwood and Jackson before moving to Hardeman County in 1982. She married John Carlin Mask on December 31, 1949, was active in the APTA and loved to travel. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of several Bridge Clubs. Mrs. Mask was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church in Bolivar.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Susan Hensley of Erwin and Anne Curtze (David) of Murfreesboro; a son, John Mask, Jr., (Jeanne) of Bolivar; a sister, Jane Morris (Jack) of Memphis; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepfather, Franklin Howard. The family requests memorial donations in her name be made to St. James Episcopal Church in Bolivar.
