Peggy Philpot Taylor, a beloved homemaker, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born on January 28, 1947, in Somerville, Tennessee, to the late Harry Hinton Philpot and Jessie Lucinda Baker Philpot.
Peggy was a woman known for her love of engaging conversations with everyone she met, particularly her cherished neighbors. Her home truly was a welcoming sanctuary. Peggy dedicated her life to caring for her family, ensuring that each moment spent together was meaningful.
She is survived by her daughters, Edith Mallett of Somerville and Sherri Brown of Bolivar, as well as her sons, Robert Taylor of Jackson and James Taylor, Jr. of Nevada. Peggy was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind grandchildren, Kyle Bryant, Brooke Boggs, Buddy Boggs, Dillon Hutchens, Page Babbitt, Nate Brown, Jack Brigance, Ben Brown, Abbigale Taylor and Rachel Taylor, and several great-grandchildren who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
In addition to her immediate family, Peggy was preceded in death by her dear daughter, Jamie McAfee, and her siblings, Harry, Maggie, John, and Bobby, who have now welcomed her into eternal rest.
Peggy Philpot Taylor's legacy will endure through the love she fostered and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
