WILLIAM ODELL ‘PETE’ PETERSON
Jackson, TN: William Odell ‘Pete’ Peterson age 85 passed away March 23, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born March 21, 1933 in Jackson, TN the son of the late John Irvin and Emma Lou Kirby Peterson. He attended schools in Jackson and entered the Army and cross trained in the U.S. Air Force Security Service in San Antonio, TX, Kelly Field and later Anchorage, Alaska. He served twenty-two years retiring in 1972 and moved back to Henderson in 1982. He worked with the U.S. Postal Service in Jackson from 1974 until 1995. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bemis.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife Lorraine Terry Smith Peterson of Jackson; three daughters; Lisa Peterson of Jackson and Karen Dawn Peterson of Jackson and April-Dawn Elise Tramell of Medon; three grandchildren, Derick Daniel, Kyle Daniel, and Sarah McClain, and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Frances Kemp and Betty Johnson and a brother, Earl Peterson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with family members officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday.
