Philip Gary Little

Phillip Gary Little was born November 18, 1940, in Henderson County, Tennessee to the late Lyles Burtram and Ethel Ruie Phillips Little. On January 25, 1974, he was united in marriage to Susan Aline McLain, who survives.

Mr. Little lived in Henderson County most of his life and also lived in Hardin County. He was a veteran, who served his country in the United States Army. He later became Deputy Sheriff for Sheriff James Hale from 1964 to 1970 and eventually was elected Hardin County Sheriff from 1970 to 1974. He was also the owner of Little's Home Improvement in Savannah, Tennessee. Mr. Little attended the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Savannah and was a past member of the Savannah Lodge, Tennessee River Lodge #102, a past member of the Tennessee Sheriff's Association, and a member of the Hardin County Republican Party and Boy's Town of West Tennessee. Mr. Little loved doing many things: gardening, yard work, listening to KUDZU Classics; but most of all he loved meeting and talking with the people of Henderson and Hardin Counties.

Mr. Little departed this life on November 30, 2013, at the age of 73 years and 12 days.

In addition to his wife, Susan of Sardis, Tennessee he is survived by three daughters, Leah Geisler, and her husband, Dave of Picwick Dam, Tennessee, Lila Ann Smith of Morris Chapel, Tennessee and Haley Little LeBlanc, and her husband, Tommy of Youngville, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Steven Cromwell, Joshua Cromwell, Spencer Cromwell, Phillip Weaver, Brooke Smith, Rickey Smith, II, Emma Grace LeBlanc, Lilly Claire LeBlanc and Layla Belle LeBlanc; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jackie Don Little of Sardis, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Edna Little of Sardis, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Little, Jimmy Neil Little and Teddy Ward Little and one sister, Mackie Lou White.
