Phyllis Haggardwas born in Chicago, Illinois on April 13, 1937 the daughter of the late George and Frances Hall Kopinski.On July 4, 1999 she was united in marriage to J. B. Sanders, who survives.Mrs. Haggard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She was a retired nurse and had worked for Hardin County General Hospital. She was a member of East End United Methodist Church, D. A. R., and the Hardin County Humane Society, she was an advocate for humane protection. Mrs. Haggard had lived in Savannah for over 25 years.Mrs. Haggard departed this life on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the age of 72 years, 3 months, 26 days.In addition to her husband, J. B., she is survived by sons, Tim Haggard and wife Beth of Nolensville, Tennessee, Kenny Haggard and wife Allyson of Hornsby, Tennessee; 3 sisters, Diane Carter, Wanda Smith both of South Haven, Michigan, and Kathy Kopinski of Sacramento, California; 5 grandchildren, Ian, Keeley, and Zoe Haggard, Jennea Catherine, and Jack Collier Haggard; a sister-in-law, Frances Sharpe of Savannah, Tennessee.
