Services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Emerald Bailey and Ernest Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Railroad Cemetery , Iron City, Tennessee

with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be on Friday, April 15, 6:00-9:00pm and on Saturday, April 16, 1:00 pm until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN



Mr Edgar departed this life on Wednesday, April 13, 2011at his home on Pumping Station Road at the age of 86 Years, 7 Months, 17 Days. He was born August 27, 1924 in Comanche, Texas the son of the late Gordon Cleve and Ruth Catherine Merrell Edgar. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edgar was preceded in death by 1st. wife of more than 60 years; Nancy Annie Mae Edgar; brothers, Alf Edgar, Clint Edgar, Bill Edgar and George Edgar; sisters, Verna Pickett, Vernas Atherton, and Alta Carroll.



He was a life long horse and mule enthusist, trainer, a ranch operator, roper, and school bus driver. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. A founding member of the South Wayne County Wagon Club, he could always be found on sunny days on his wagon enjoying the countryside of Wayne County where he had lived for over 65 years.



He is survived by his wife Jeanette Coker Edgar of Iron City, TN; his only son, Anthony and wife Tina Simmons Edgar of Florence, AL; four grandchildren; Benjamin; Sarah; Samuel and Jared Edgar.



2 step sons; 2 step grandsons; 2 step granddaughters.



sister, June Jones and husband George ; brothers, G.W. Edgar and wife Betty and Garfield Edgar all of Jonesboro, AR; several nieces , nephews and friends.
