R.D. McCormick, 59, of Middleton, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at Bolivar General Hospital.
Born October 14, 1950 in Rogers Springs to the late Sidney Brown McCormick and Mae Esteller Henderson McCormick, he was a nurse at Western Mental Health Institute. He worked at Master Slack, was a farmer, and a former grocery store owner. He was a 1968 graduate of Middleton High School and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He lived all of his life in Hardeman County.
Survivors include a sister, Mavis McCormick-Griffin of Rogers Springs; a brother and his wife, James and Shirley McCormick of Rogers Springs; a sister-in-law, Polly McCormick of Finger; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Willie O'Neal McCormick; and a brother-in-law, Claude Griffin.
