Jacks Creek, TN: Raford Sewell Nobles, age 85, passed away March 4, 2011 at the emergency room of Henderson County Community Hospital.He was born and reared at Jacks Creek, the son of the late Henry Luke and Beulah Holmes Nobles. He attended Chester County High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served in combat infantry as a machine gunner and served overseas in several countries. He was married to Bobbie Faye Fletcher in 1948 and they made their home at Jacks Creek. She died in 1973. Mr. Nobles farmed and worked as a salesman for Malone and Hyde. He retired in 1991. He was married to Norma Jo Lofton in 1975. They made their home at Jacks Creek. Norma Joe died December 2008. He was a long time member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a Methodist.He is survived by a son Larry Nobles and wife Sue of Jacks Creek; a daughter, Patsy Jean Jones and husband Don of Jacks Creek; a stepdaughter, Leanne Gibbs and husband Robert of Knoxville; a sister, Ruby Wright of Jacks Creek; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Dennis Joe Fletcher in 2006; a brother, Glen Nobles in 1988 and a sister, Lila Sue Ross in 1978.
