Ramon Franklin Smith

September 16, 1926 — June 10, 2011

Mr. Smith passed away Friday afternoon at his home in Saulsbury.



The widower of Joyce Smith, who died on August 1, 1998 after almost 38 years of marriage, he was a farmer. He was born to Albert French Smith and Effie Ursery Smith, both of whom preceded him in death and lived all of his life here. He served in the US Navy for nine years aboard the U.S.S. Wiseman. Mr. Smith was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.



Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Burnette of Saulsbury and Dee Dee Knight of Memphis; a son, Gregg Smith of Saulsbury; a sister, Wardie Bell Weatherly of Memphis; six grandchildren, Audrey White, Tommy Burnette, Leah Smith, Libby Smith, Melenie Williams and Mackie Martin; and one great grandchild, Alyssa Weatherly.
