RANDY ALLEN SMITH
Henderson, TN: Randy Allen Smith, age 67, passed away November 24, 2024, at his home.
He was born September 22, 1957, in Henderson, the son of the late Charles Perry and Johnnie Rhea Goodwin Smith. He grew up in Henderson and was a 1976 graduate of Chester County High School.
He married Elizabeth Ann Shelton on December 27, 1979. They were married forty-five years and made their home in Henderson.
He loved working his farm which he did most of his life until his health prevented it.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Chester County Highway Department for about twenty years.
He enjoyed listening to music, barbequing hogs and doing mechanic work.
He was generally good hearted and would help anyone who had a need. He was hardworking and didn’t like being idle.
He especially loved his grandchildren and spoiling them.
He was a member of the Sweetlips Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Ann Shelton Smith of Henderson; two daughters, Sherry Carpenter of Henderson and Charolett Welch (Michael) of Henderson; four grandchildren, Shelby Nanney (Ethan), Perry Welch, Elizabeth Welch and Tiffany Barton (John) and three great grandchildren, Lakelyn Barton, Gunner Barton and Oakleigh Nanney; three sisters, Jackie Fletcher (Joe), Betty Terry (Kenny) and Donna Murphy (Wendell) all of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Benny Lynn Smith and Charles Daniel Smith.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 27th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
