Mr. Taylor died Thursday night at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a native of Hardeman County, the son of the late Eddie Cleveland Taylor and Sally Elizabeth Granger Taylor. He married the former Clara Bernadine Smith on February 26, 1939. Mr. Taylor had served as a deacon at Ebenezer Baptist Church since 1958 and was a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. He worked as a farmer, electrician and was employed at Harmon International for 9 years and retired from Western Mental Health after 15 years of service there.
He leaves his wife, Clara Taylor of Bolivar; his daughter, Raylene Jacobs of Bolivar; a sister, Bernice Howard of Jackson; his granddaughter, Amy Rhymer, and husband, Erich, of Bolivar; and a great granddaughter, Ava Rhymer. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alene Nelson and Effie Cox and a brother, Leland Taylor.
