Rayford Allen Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN was born May 2, 1958 in Hohenwald, Tennessee the, son of Evelyn Caperton Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN, who survives, and the late James Austin Gobbell. He was united in marriage to Jonnie Annette Riley on November 10, 1978.



Mr. Gobbell was a disabled self-employed truck driver.



Mr. Gobbell departed this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 53 Years, 5 Months, 16 Days.



Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jonnie Annette Riley Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Johnna Leigh Gobbell of Columbia, TN, Hannah Dale Davis of Waynesboro, TN; special friend and co-partner, Skyler Davis of Waynesboro, TN; a granddaughter, Jaleigh Raygan Powell; a brother, Randal Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN; sisters, Dianne Borngesser of Flemington, NJ, Mary Ann Gobbell of Lawrenceburg, TN.



In addition to his father, Mr. Gobbell was preceded in death by grandparents, Hobert and Roxie Nutt Gobbell and nephew, Kenneth Borngesser, Jr.



Services will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN, directing. Pallbearers will be Tim Anderson, Alvin Creecy, Kevin Franks, Darnell Powell, Randal Gobbell, and Jim Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Borngesser, Charlie Byrd, Joe Hall, MD, Cullen Sanders, Brandon Floyd, and Martin Haggard, Jr.
