Mr. Free passed away Monday at Methodist Hospital in Germantown.
Born July 11, 1935 to the late Raymond and Gladys Bailey Free, Mr. Free was a quality control manager at Firestone in Memphis for 26 years and Master Slack from 1983 to 2004. He loved to play golf, was president of Grand Valley Lakes Golf Management, interested in building and construction, and built for himself and others. He was in the Tennessee National Guard and Air National Guard, and graduate of Memphis State University. He lived in Memphis from 1983 to 2003, before moving to Saulsbury in 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy, whom he married September 4, 1983, two daughters and their husbands, Jean and Bob Reible of Eads, Janet and Don Yanowski of Baton Rouge, LA; a stepdaughter, Tracye Watkins of Somerville; a stepson and his wife, Wesley and Charlie Blackwood of Paducah, KY; a sister and her husband, Judy and Skipper Haynie of Eads; and nine grandchildren, Lauren Beedles, Michelle and John Reible, Donnie and Jacob Yanowski, Aaron Watkins, Arlo, Donovan, and Iris Blackwood.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Free.
