Raymond Tedford was born March 31, 1929 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Ethel N. and Odear Young Tedford.
He was united in marriage to Delores MacMillan on August 13, 1955 in Antwerp, N.Y.
Mr. Tedford served in the United States Army for eight years, seeing active service in the Korean War. Following his military service, Mr. Tedford owned and operated Tedford's Grocery in the Hines Gin Community.
He attended Gravel Hill Baptist Curch. Mr. Tedford enjoyed gardening, and fishing, as well as watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and the Lady Vols basketball.
Mr. Tedford departed this life on March 11, 2011 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 11 Months, and 11 Days. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Delores Tedford of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Kathy Tedford of Pasedena, TX, and Penny (Tedford) King and husband Tim of Selmer, TN; two sons, Greg Tedford and wife Melissa of Ramer, TN, and Doug Tedford of Selmer, TN; six grandchildren, Scott Tedford of Corinth, MS, Jonathan and Kailey Tedford both of Ramer, TN, Courtney, Kristen, and Carter King, all of Selmer, TN; and four sisters, Wilma Barber of Stantonville, TN, Shirley Rickman, Dorthy Jean Ingle, and Rebecca Roten, all of Selmer, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tedford was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Paul, and Leonard Tedford.
