Reba Inez Gray

April 4, 1928 — July 16, 2015

Reba Inez White Gray was born on April 4, 1928 in the Walker Community, Hardin County, Tennessee. Reba was daughter of William Frank and Lillie Austin White. She was one of seven children. On April 27, 1946 she married Edward Gray. Edward has been waiting for Reba in Heaven since February 27, 1992. Reba joined Edward on July 16, 2015 while surrounded by her family.

Reba leaves three children, daughters, Blanch (husband Warren), Roena, and son Eddy (wife Freeda). She also leaves her grandchildren, Jonathan Gray, Jordan Gray (wife Alaina), Julie Weaver Sharkey (husband James), Jenifer Weaver Smith, Amanda Linnell England (husband Brian), Daniel Linnell (wife Ashley), and Griffin Lewis. Thirteen Great-Grandchildren, Kaylee DePriest, Noah Linnell, Molly White, Samuel Gray, Amelia Gray, John and Jacob Smith, Adam, Nathan, Katie, and Finley Linnell and Eli and Brooke England. Reba would be quick to tell you “There’s not an ugly one in the bunch”. Reba is also survived by her sister Nona White Shelby. Other than her parents and husband, Reba was preceded in death by her siblings, brothers, James Homer, Oscar, and Hubert White, and sisters, Daisy Brock and Jo Shook.

Reba worked hard her entire life, first as a farmer’s wife where she worked in the fields, dug worms, and did whatever she could to help support her family. Her public work included Savannah Manufacturing and Hardin County Hospital in which she was proud to be a certified nurse’s assistant, and according to many, “Reba was the Best one Hardin County ever had.” Reba and Edward had traveled to all of the United States with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska. Reba enjoyed working in her flowers and taking care of others. She always put others needs before her own. Most of you have probably enjoyed one of her delicious caramel cakes. Reba was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She is survived by a host of friends, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to pay honor to Donald Briley our friend and neighbor who was so good and kind to her. “Don you’re family”.

Reba was 87 years, 3 months, and 12 days.
