REDDA ABSTON JONES
Henderson, TN: Redda Catherine Abston Jones age 64 passed away November 13, 2015 at her sister’s home in Nashville.
She was born July 30, 1951 in Overton County, TN the daughter of the late Ralph Albert and Louise Catherine Hite Abston. She went to school in Overton County, as a young girl she helped babysit all of her brothers and sisters. She married Glenn Jones of the Montezuma Community of Chester County. They lived in Ohio and Nashville where she worked for Woodlawn Cemetery and maintenance for their mausoleum. They moved to Henderson in 1985 and lived there ever since. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved to cook for the family. She also enjoyed going to the go-cart race track.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, John Albert Jones and wife Victoria and Glen Franklin Jones and wife Gator all of Henderson; six grandchildren, Cathy Jones, Nick Cannon, Casey Garner, Johnathan Jones, Lee Jones and Beth Jones; ten great grandchildren; six brothers, Roy Abston, Randel Abston, Pete Abston, Richard Abston, Ralph Abston, Jr, and Donny Abston and four sisters, Jalena Hodge, Darlene Haris, Cherlye Dyre and Lisa Givens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen Jones and two brothers, Danny and Ronald Abston.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday November 16, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Elizabeth Abston officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 9 PM on Sunday.
