Rev. Melvin BradfordScotts Hill, TN: Melvin Frazier Bradford, age 84 passed away November 13, 2011 at Community Hospice – Jacksonville, FL. He was born and reared in Gibson County (Yorkville, TN) the son of the late Ira and Florance Lee Brown Bradford. He went to school in Gibson County. In 1958 he married Merle Marie Nash of Selmer. They made their home in Dallas and Tyler, TX. Mr. Bradford farmed, did carpenter work and preached. They moved back to Chester County near Jacks Creek. Mrs. Bradford died in 2002. He loved to hunt and fish and being in nature. He was a member of the String Town Pentecostal Church in Lexington. Mr. Bradford preached over 70 years. He is survived by a son, Melvin Bradford, Jr. of Brooksfield, FL; two daughters, Onda Marie Hill of Rutherford, TN and Lillian Lee Hunter of Middleburg, FL; a grand-daughter he raised, Shree Evon Swain of Jackson, MS; nine grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and thirty great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Crouse of Savannah, TN.
