Rev. Robert Stanley McCullar

Rev. Robert Stanley McCullar Sr. of Selmer, Tennessee was born on May 17, 1927 to the late Archie and Maude Norris McCullar. He was united in marriage to Gwen Rowland on October 11, 1947. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Mr. McCullar was a Southern Baptist Minister and a former Teacher with the McNairy County Board of Education. He had a Masters of Divinity and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer. He passed from this life on Monday, February 1, 2010 in Selmer at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 15 days.Survivors are his wife of over 62 years, Gwen Rowland McCullar of Selmer; a son, Robert Stanley McCullar, Jr. of Selmer; a daughter, Karla Kay Tranum of Selmer; a sister, Opal Suggs of Corinth, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren, April Cleary, Sophie McCullar, Houston McCullar, Tyler Tranum, Trevor Tranum, Kaylee Tranum, Tanner Tranum; a great-grandchild, Kennedy Cleary; niece, Carol Smith of Selmer; 2 nephews, Douglas McMahan of Ramer, Tennessee, Mickey Suggs of Corinth. A host of other relatives and friends.Other than his parents, Mr. McCullar was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen McMahan and Geneva Watson.
