Rhonda Jean Donovan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhonda Jean Donovan of Collinwood, TN, at the age of 75. Rhonda was born on April 9, 1949, to the late Boyd Thompson and Golden Haddock Stults. Throughout her life, Rhonda found purpose and joy in caring for others as a dedicated nurse.

Away from work, Rhonda cultivated simple pleasures that brought her immense happiness - be it fishing by the peaceful waters, tending to her blooming garden, or embarking on treasure hunts at yard sales. 

Rhonda was a faithful member of the Stone Water Church in Granbury, TX, Rhonda's spiritual devotion shone brightly in all aspects of her life. 

On Friday, June 14, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Waynesboro, TN, Rhonda peacefully departed this world.

She is survived by son, Samuel Jeffery Horton (Amy) of Florence, AL; daughters, Amye Harris (Terrell) of Collinwood, TN, and Heather Hamner (Wesley) of Killen, AL; brother, Tim Thompson of St.Louis, MO; sisters, Selena Carver of Collinwood, TN, and Lisa Lindemann of St.Louis, MO; grandchildren, Justin Horton (Charlee), Braden Harris (Taylor), Ben Hamner, Jace Horton, Brylee Alley (Wyatt), Ethan Hamner, Samuel Hamner, and Coleton Knipper (Chloe); great grandchildren, Stratton Mae Horton, and Baylor Cole Knipper.

 In addition to her parents, Rhonda is preceded in death by brothers, Richard Thompson, Riley Steve Thompson, and James Therion Thompson; and a sister, Sabrina Stults Thompson.

 Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton officiating.

Following the services at Rhonda and the family’s request, Rhonda Donovan will be cremated.
