RHONDA ROLAND STACEY
The Villages, FL: Rhonda Jean Roland Stacey age 56 passed away December 18, 2016 at The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, FL.
She was born August 31, 1960 at Eglin Air Force Base at Fort Walton Beach, FL and grew up in several places while her dad was in the Air Force. Rhonda is the daughter of W.T. and Ellna Mae Patterson Roland. She finished school on the base at Dover Delaware and received an associate degree at Dover Community College. She married Jim Stacey in 1987. They made their home in Michigan for twelve years and the panhandle of Florida for 15 years.
She had worked for the State of Delaware government and then secretary for the women’s basketball team at Michigan State University.
They had lived at The Villages, FL for about 18 months. She loved to read and visit with friends. She was very involved in the First Baptist Church of Leesburg and was active in planting the church at the Village Park Campus Church. Rhonda was an active member of the cancer survivors in the Destin area for fifteen years.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Stacey of The Villages, FL; a stepson, Adam Stacey of East Lansing, MI, her father and mother, W.T. and Ellna Patterson Roland of Pinson; two brothers, Tony Roland of Byhalia, MS and Tim Roland of Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Mathew Stacey.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM Thursday until service time Thursday.
