Richard McGee

Richard McGee was born on June 19, 1947 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Ether and Verlon McCain McGee.

On December 2, 2011, he was united in marriage to Tila Holloway, who survives.

Richard was a member of Counce First United Pentecostal Church. He loved to talk to people about the Lord. He would walk up to people, no matter where he was, and talk to them about the goodness of God. Richard also loved to talk about cows and he gave lots of people advice on them. He told many stories of how he would load a bull or unruly cow and how he wasn't afraid of no bulls. LOL

Richard McGee departed this life on May 23, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

He is survived by his wife, Tila McGee of Michie, Tennessee; grandson, that Richard thought of as his son, Hunter Blake Morris; stepson, Wayde Melson (Stacey) of Michie, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Samantha Melson (Jarvis Weatherly) of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Hayleigh (Tyler), Kyler, Emma, Westin, Kynleigh, Malanna, Ashantii, Kingston, and Kyndrick; great grandchild, Mylai; sister, Judy White; brother, Rex A. McGee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Wilkins; brother, Rlander McGee; and brothers in law, Otis White and L.C. Wilkins.
