Richard Allen Mitchell

Richard Allen (Ricky) Mitchell Lee Mitchell.of Waynesboro, TN was born December 29, 1946 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Charles Edward and Irma Lee Walker Mitchell. He was united in marriage to Mauveline Thompson on January 30, 1976.

Mr. Mitchell was a school bus driver and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He served in the Tennessee National Guard and departed this life on Thursday, May 9, 2014 at his home at the age of 67 Years, 4 Months, 10 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Mauveline Thompson Mitchell; sons, Richard Thomas (Rick) Mitchell, Gary Allen Mitchell and wife, Lindsey and Brandon Lee Mitchell and wife, Brittany; grandchildren, Colby Allen, Mallory Marie and Daniel Thomas Mitchell; a brother, Tommy Mitchell; a sister, Jean Inman all of Waynesboro, TN; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by a grandchild, Conner Lee Mitchell.

Services will be Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with H.H. Hurst and Jerry L. Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Rick, Gary, Brandon, David, Stephen, and Tommy Mitchell.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm and Sunday, May 11, 2014 from noon until service time at the funeral home.
