RICKY COOPER

 Finger, TN: Ricky Douglas Cooper, age 67, passed away March 12, 2024, at Regional One – Memphis, TN.

He was born October 14, 1956, in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Wayne and Mary Cooper. He grew up in the Montezuma Community, of Chester County and was  a 1974 graduate of Chester County High School.

He married Rhonda Maness in 1974. They had two children together. He farmed all of his life raising hogs and cows and growing hay, soybeans, Milo and corn. He also worked at the Bemis Mill as a machine operator and for Lyondell Basell in Jackson.  

He married Betty Jane Ross on June 20, 1986. They made their home in Chester County.

He enjoyed being outdoors in the fields, he also had a passion for gardening. He liked animals especially dogs.

Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife Betty Jane Cooper, a son, Kyle Cooper (Chasity) of Henderson and two daughters, Brandi Cooper Huff (Barney) of Finger and Jessica Cooper of Finger; two stepchildren, Brandy White (Bobby) of Selmer and Angela Ross of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren, Colton Cobb, Landon Huff, Kameron Cooper, Adryen Kaneer, Ashlinn Kaneer, Adam Javier Ross, Jaden Espinoza, Dalton White and Caleb White; a brother, Mike Cooper of Henderson and a sister, Sharon Thomas (Jimmy) of Henderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Cooper.     

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 16^th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to LeBonheur Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
