Ricky Earl Montgomery

Ricky Earl Montgomery was born September 8, 1955 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence AL; the son of Jean Tidwell and the late Elmer Earl Montgomery. He was united in marriage to Kathy West on June 3, 1988. Mr. Montgomery departed this life at the the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital on March 1, 2017 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 61 Years, 5 Months, 21 Days.

He was a retired contract builder and diesel mechanic for Zip City Express in Zip City, AL. He and his wife lived happily and shared a very close relationship.

He is survived by his wife Kathy West Montgomery of Florence, AL; two sons, Lee White and wife Tonya of Tuscumbia, AL, Rocky White and wife Lisa of Hueytown, AL; three sisters, Kay McMullan of Florence, AL, Vicky Williams and husband Jerry of Florence, AL, Melissa Brewer and husband Randy of Collinwood, TN; mother Jean Tidwell Montgomery; five grandchildren, Ashton Hill and husband Dylan Hill, Brittney Fish, Austin Fish, Abby Fish, Jessica Keeton; 2 great grandchildren Sterling Hill and Ellie Haithcoat.

In addition to his father, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by nephews Vance McMullan and Tatum McMullan. Grandparents Anderson and Lina Montgomery; Clyde and Mary Tidwell.

Services will be held on March 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Collinwood in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Nick Franks, Ricky West officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee. Pallbearers include Dalton McMullan, Sonny Williams, Javen Clanton, Chisholm Atkinson, Dylan Hill and Austin Fish. Mr. Montgomery's closest friends will act as Honorary Pallbearers.
