Ricky Gene Willoughby was born on December 2, 1958 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Herbert Eugene Willoughby and Peggy Sue Barlow Winborn.
Ricky honorably served his country in the United States National Guard. For the past 12 years, he was employed at Gambrell Hickory Mill where he worked as a Bobcat driver. He previously worked at Phillip Little's Siding for 20 years. Ricky was a very good carpenter and loved to build all kinds of things. He enjoyed wood working, arrow head hunting, gardening (especially growing tomato plants), helping Jeff with cows and feeding, and just being outdoors in general. He hated watermelon but a good cheeseburger and home fries was one of his favorite meals. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and would always try to help someone in need. He loved his grandchildren, Carlia and Sawyer, and enjoyed spending time with them.
Ricky departed this life on February 24, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 22 days.
He is survived by his daughter, Meranda Willoughby of Adamsville, Tennessee; sisters, Paty Willoughby Hooper and Mary Beth Franks, both of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Jeff Willoughby of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Carlia Gambrell and Sawyer Gambrell; and life long friend, Rick Murphy.
In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Barlow Willoughby and nephew, Cpl. Keith Eric Essary.
Pallbearers will be Wade Willoughby, Casey Willoughby, Cody Willoughby, Rick Murphy, Tony Franks, and Phil Martin, with Sawyer Gambrell as an Honorary Pallbearer.
