It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Riley Harold Russell, who died on June 29, 2025 at the age of 69. Harold was born on June 22, 1956 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Kennie and Minnie Mae Russell.
Harold enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors. He was a passionate gardener and enjoyed sharing his beautiful harvest with friends and family alike. He was a retired brick masonary and logger by trade and even competed nationally in San Antonio, Texas in masonary winning the national title. You could find him with a smile on his face, a beer and cigarette in hand, and a welcoming invitation to pull up a chair and stay awhile and he always had a story to share. He never met a stranger and loved others, especially his family, with his whole heart. His love for his girls always shown through anytime he spoke about them.
He is survived by his daughters, Tabitha Russell, Brittany Murphy (Ryan), and Leighanne Chvila; grandchildren, Jada, Riley (Madison), Calleigh, Lane, Ryleigh, Haleigh, and Miles; brother, Keith Russell; sisters, Janice Prince, Linda McFall, Connie Bain, Robbie Chase, Sheila Ray, and Carmin Durbin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Riley Russell; daughter, Mitzi Dawn Russell; parents, Kennie and Minnie Mae Russell; brother, Kennie Jr. Russell; and 2 granddaughters, Jillian and Jaqueline.
