Mr. Sipes died Sunday morning, April 16, 2017 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 44 years, 6 months and 14 days.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 30, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for friends and family at the Columns in Bolivar, TN.
He was born in Jackson on Monday, October 2, 1972, the son of Bobby and Betty Nuckolls Sipes, both of whom survive. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. He lived in Hardeman County until 1982 when the family moved to Melbourne, FL. Robbie returned to live in Bolivar in 2012.
He was a graduate of Palm Bay (FL) High School, in the class of 1990, received his Associate of Arts degree with honors and attended the University of Florida. At the time of his passing, he was a sous chef at Lone Oaks Farm in Hardeman County and worked for Harriet S. Thompson. Previously, he had worked in the food and wine industry for 15 years in Florida.
Mr. Sipes was a Methodist in faith and, in his leisure time, enjoyed scrabble, crossword puzzles, cooking, watching "Jeopardy" and television documentaries.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman and Sarah Deming Sipes of Bolivar; and his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Mary Hornsby Nuckolls.
Memorials may be sent to Hardeman County Adoptable Animals, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
