Robert Lee Ashe of Stantonville, TN was born November 15, 1938 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late James Acey Ashe and Cora Lee Hockaday Ashe. He was united in marriage to Doris Garrison on September 16, 1957.
Mr. Ashe was a retired Construction Maintenance Manager with Aqua Glass Corporation in Adamsville, TN. He previously worked for Brown Shoe Company and Pickwick Electric Cooperative. He was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church where he also served as a Trustee. Mr. Ashe was active in the monthly Stantonville Fire Department fish fry and was overseer of the Union Grove Cemetery. He enjoyed fishing and visiting the D & D Country Store where he was known as the "Ice Man". He liked riding his bicycle, sitting on the front porch in the swing, and caring for his great grandchildren.
Mr. Ashe departed this life on June 1, 2017 in his home at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Ashe of Stantonville; three daughters, Stephanie Brown and husband Johnnie, Kim South and husband Roger, and Shelley Turnbow; a son, Greg Ashe and wife Tonya; eight grandchildren, Justin (Bo Bo) Forsythe, Chelsie Finenco and husband Greg, Molly Cherry and husband Shane, Lindsey Miller and husband Anthony, Andrew Castile and wife Hannah, Ashton Forsythe, Chris Turnbow, Tyler Ashe; special great grandchildren, Macie Forsythe, Lexie Forsythe, Klaidyn Robertson, Canaan Ashe, and Maddie Johnson who was like his great grandchild; two brothers, Charles Ashe and wife Bess, Jerry Ashe and wife Margie; sisters-in-law, Kay Raines and husband Larry, and Candy Garrison along with a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ashe was preceded in death by a daughter, Robbin Beth Ashe; a grt-granddaughter, Allie Beth Forsythe; a sister, Johnnie Ashe; three brothers, Estil Ashe and wife Mildred, Hubert Ashe, James Eathel Ashe and wife Ersel; a brother-in-law, Charlie Garrison. His grandparents were the late D. M. and Nancy Ashe and John Lee and Mary Etta Hockaday.
