Robert (Bob) E. Bailey departed this life on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 28 days. He was born in Crump, Tennessee on March 14, 1945, the son of the late Collins C. and Candace McGarity Bailey. On April 2, 1966, he was united in marriage to Paulette Stanford, who preceded him in death.
Robert went to Hardin County High School and was the quarterback for the Savannah Tigers in 1962 when they won the conference that year. He was a Yellow Dog Democrat, and loved to fish, gardening, woodworking, and building things. He was a pipe fitter by trade and worked for Grinell Sprinkler Fitters, and was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local 669 for over 50 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbra Owen of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amy Diesel of Crestview, Florida and Michael R. Owen of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; and great grandchildren, Kolton Owen, Jayson, Connor, and Kimberlee Diesel.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence C. Bailey, Kent Bailey, and John Bailey.
